To monitor the data points of a TCP device or entity, you must add them to the device
or entity in Security Center.
Procedure
-
From the Config
Tool home page,
open the Plugins task.
-
Select an TCP device or entity from the entity browser and click the
Properties tab.
-
In the Data points section, click Add data
point (
).
-
In the Information section, enter a name for the data
point.
-
In the Protocol information section, enter the
following:
- Regular expression
- The regular expression of the data point.
NOTE: TCP devices that are
bound to plain text in a TCP server must define a regular
expression for every data point they hold. The data point value
is the first capture group of the data point regular expression.
This means that if the regular expression does not have
parenthesis in it, then the data point will never have a
value.
- Value type
- The value type used by the input (data point).
- Access level
- The read/write capability of the data point. All HTTP Server data
points currently only support read capabilities.
-
In the Measurement unit section, enter the
following:
- Name
- The name of the unit of measure of the data point
- Symbol
- A symbol to represent the unit of measure of the data point.
-
Click Add and then click
Apply.
Results
The data point is displayed in the
Data points
section.
