To quickly assign custom states, data points, and actions when adding multiple devices of the same type to Security Center, you can create templates for each device type.
Before you begin
Procedure
- From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
- Select the plugin role related to the device you are creating templates for and click the Entity types tab.

In the Entity types section, click Add entity
type (

- Enter a name for the entity type and click Add.
- In the Information section, select an icon for the entity type.
- In the Custom states section, select icons to indicate a state change on the entity type.
- In the Data points section, add the data points of the entity that you want to monitor.
- For BACnet, Modbus, and OPC UA entities, in the Actions section, add the actions that you want to be able to write to a device.
- For SNMP entities, in the Notifications section, add SNMP traps to the entity.
- For TCP entities, add events that you want triggered when a condition is met.
- Click Apply.
Results
After you finish
- (Optional) Click Export to save the template as a .JSON file on your workstation.
- Add the entities that the template applies to.
