The Industrial IoT plugin is an installation suite that enables you to install the Modbus, BACnet, OPC Client, and SNMP Manager plugins to Security Center so you can collect and organize information from devices that support these protocols.

Administrator tasks using Config Tool

The following tasks are common across BACnet, Modbus, OPC Client, SNMP Manager, HTTP Server, TCP Server, and MQTT Client:
  • Enroll devices and add the data points of each device to Security Center.
  • Poll devices and entities to obtain information about its data points.
  • Create entities out of a single data point or a set of data points.
  • Create device and entity templates to simplify the configuration of large systems.
  • Configure rules to raise a custom event or alarm when a specific change in value is detected on a data point.
  • Have the icon of a device or entity change in a map when the value of a data point changes.
  • Display devices and entities, as well as their statuses, on a map.
  • Link cameras to devices and entities to view video associated with alarms and events.
The following tasks only apply to the BACnet, Modbus, and OPC Client plugins:
  • Configure rules to write to devices on a schedule or when a Security Center event is triggered by an entity.
  • Create actions so operators can write to a device or entity from a contextual menu in Config Tool.
The following tasks only apply to the SNMP Manager plugin:
  • Configure rules to raise a custom event or alarm when an SNMP trap or SNMP inform message is received.

Operator tasks using Security Desk

The following tasks are common across BACnet, Modbus, OPC Client, SNMP Manager, HTTP Server, TCP Server, and MQTT Client:
  • Monitor the data points of connected devices and entities in real time.
  • Monitor state changes of devices and entities. For example, if they are online, offline, or in a warning state.
  • Receive events, alarms for devices and entities according to the rules configured in Config Tool.
  • On maps, view the status of devices and entities and the current values of data points.
  • In dashboards, view the current state of the data points or over a specific period of time.
NOTE: This feature is available in Security Center 5.8.1 and later.
  • Generate reports about actions related to rules that are configured in the plugin. This includes events, alarms, state changes, and so on.
