The Industrial IoT plugin 5.0.1.1 includes the following new features.

Unified user interface for all protocols

Starting with version 5.0.0.0, all supported IoT protocols are installed through a single plugin. Moreover, they are all managed in Config Tool through a single plugin role, Industrial IoT.

Protocol enhancements

  • For SNMP implementation it is recommended to use SHA256, SHA384 and SHA512 for the authentication protocol and AES192, AES256 for the privacy protocol for better security.
  • Data points can now be listed in a specific order in Config Tool and the same order is automatically displayed in Security Desk.
  • In TCP servers, the Messages of delimitation can be disabled.
  • You can now select the version of MQTT protocol version to configure a MQTT broker connection.
  • Data points can now be disabled and will not appear in the Monitoring task in Security Desk.
  • In MQTT, you can add an action to write a value on a MQTT topic that will write on a device data point.
  • Modbus Client devices now support multiple registers per data points.

UI enhancements

  • Now, you can double-click a data point, an event or an action to open its Edit dialog box.
  • Configuring multiple data points, events, actions, arguments , devices and entities can be done using the option Add and after adding all information the user can select Add and Close to finish configuration.
  • There are search boxes above sections for data points, events, rules, devices and entities for the user to find information quickly.
  • All device properties are now displayed in sections which are collapsible.
  • In the Rules tab an existing rule can be duplicated when you right-click the rule and click Duplicate.
