If you want the HTTP Server to provide access to client certificates it can be configured to accept either all certificates or only trusted certificates.

Before you begin

  • Add an HTTP device.
  • Turn on the HTTP Server switch on the Industrial IoT plugin role's Protocol page.

What you should know

Clients have the option to accept all certificates by default or configure trusted certificates that the HTTP server can use to establish a secure and authorized connection.

Procedure

  1. From the Plugins task, select the Industrial IoT plugin role.
  2. Click on the Protocols tab and select the HTTP server protocol.
  3. In the Client certificates section click Use trusted certificates.
  4. Click Add a client certificate ().
  5. Select the certificate from the file browser dialog box.
  6. Click View certificate to open a dialog box displaying details of the selected certificate.
You can use the search box above the list to filter the trusted certificates by their file name.
  7. Click Apply.
The client certificate is now configured and the plugin can receive the incoming secure connection.
