To monitor the data points of a BACnet device or entity, you must add them to the
device or entity in Security Center.
Before you begin
Best Practice: For optimal performance of the plugin, it is
recommended to limit the number of data points and rules to 5000
respectively.
Procedure

From the Config Tool homepage, open the Plugins
task.

In the entity browser, select the Industrial IoT role
and click on the Devices tab.

Select the BACnet device from the Devices list.

In the Data points section of the device, do one of the
following:
- Click Browse device data points (
), and select
a BACnet object from the Identifier list.NOTE: If the
device is unreachable when the browser is open, the warning message
Device unreachable persists after the BACnet device
is reached in the data point browser, even after the browser is
refreshed. To clear the message, close and re-open the data point
browser.
- Click Add a data point (
), and enter
the following:
- Name
- The name of the data point.
- Object type
- The BACnet object type that is related to the data point.
- Object instance
- The number used to identify the BACnet object.
- Access level
- Indicates whether the selected data point is read-only or
read-write. This field is automatically displayed by the plugin
role.
- Conversion
- The conversion to be applied to the argument.
- Unit name
- (Optional) The measurement unit of the data point.
- Unit symbol
- (Optional) The symbol representing the measurement unit.

Click Add to add another data point or click
Add and Close.
The data point is displayed in the Data points
section.

(Optional) To duplicate a data point, right-click on the data point and select
Duplicate.

(Optional) To deactivate a data point, right-click on the data point and select
Deactivate.

Click Apply.
