Adding TCP devices to Security Center - Industrial IoT 5.2.3.0 | BACnet | Modbus | OPC Client | SNMP Manager

For the Genetec™ Industrial IoT plugin role to monitor TCP devices, you must first create a TCP server, and then add the devices.

1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the Plugins task.
2. Select the Industrial IoT plugin role from the entity browser.
3. Click the Devices tab and click Add a device ().
   The Add a device dialog box opens.

   
4. Enter the required information for your TCP device:

   Name

   A unique name used to identify this device in your system.

   Type

   (Optional) The device type to apply as a model for this device. Device types define the common properties, such as protocol, states, data points, and actions, shared by a group of devices. Using a device type simplifies your configuration work. Device types are defined in the Device types page of the Industrial IoT plugin role.

   NOTE: If you select None, you must manually configure all properties for the device in Security Center. If this is your first device, you can complete its configuration and create the device type from it.

   Protocol

   Select TCP Server.

   The dialog box expands to show the rest of the information you must enter.

   
5. Enter the required information for your TCP device:

   TCP Server

   The TCP server that is used for all communications between the plugin role and this device.

   Send acknowledgment message

   Choose one from the following options:

   Inherited from server

   Ask the device to follow the TCP Server configuration.

   Enabled

   Enter the message to send to TCP Client in the Acknowledgment message field.

   Disabled

   Do not send any acknowledgment message to the TCP Client.

6. Click Add.
   The device is added to the list of devices.
7. Click Apply.
