To view the values of data points outside of the Industrial IoT plugin, for example displaying the weight of an object to a crane operator, you must enable the custom entity monitoring feature in Config Tool.

What you should know
IMPORTANT: Monitoring data points outside of the plugin requires the
configuration of JSON files through the Genetec™ SDK. This work must be done by an
approved SDK partner. For more information, contact the Genetec Development Acceleration
Program.
Procedure
- From the Config Tool homepage, open the Plugins task.
- Select the plugin role in which the data points that you want monitor reside, and click Properties.
- In the Custom entity monitoring section, move the Enabled slider to ON .
- In the Update interval field, enter the frequency at which the value of the data point should be updated.
- Click Apply.
