If you were using one of the legacy plugin roles, BACnet, Modbus, OPC Client, or SNMP
Manager, you must migrate the entities they manage to the new Industrial IoT
plugin role.
What you should know
- Starting
with version 5.0.0.0, only the Industrial IoT plugin role is needed to
manage all IoT protocols.
For
this reason, only the Time Series settings for the Industrial IoT
plugin role are preserved. The Time Series
settings for the legacy plugin roles will be lost.
- For the migration to work, the Industrial IoT database must use Windows
authentication.
Procedure
-
From the Config Tool homepage, open the
Plugins task.
-
Select the Industrial IoT plugin role and click the
Properties tab.
When you have legacy plugin roles on your system,
a
third section is displayed under the
Time Series
section in the
Properties page.
-
In the Import section, click the drop-down list, select a plugin
to migrate, and click Import.
The
Importation dialog box opens.
-
(Optional) Select the Import reports option to preserve the
historical data.
The historical data include the health events, the input activities, and the rule
activities. You can view these historical data with the Industrial IoT investigation
tasks.
-
Click Import to start the importation.
The import of the selected plugin starts. Do not close this window before the
progress bar shows 100%.
-
When the importation is finished, do one of the following:
- Click Delete old database to delete the old database before
clicking Close.
- Click Close and delete the old database yourself from the
Resources page of the disabled plugin role.
-
Repeat the same process for all legacy plugins that you have on your system.
-
Delete all legacy plugin roles that are no longer needed: BACnet, Modbus, OPC Client,
and SNMP Manager.
