Information for upgrading Mercury LP controllers from firmware 1.x.x to 2.x.x

This article describes important information to know before upgrading Mercury LP controllers from firmware 1.x.x to 2.x.x.

Applies to

Mercury LP1501, LP1502, LP2500, LP4502

Upgrade path

Mercury LP controllers must be at firmware version 1.31.0 before migrating to 2.x.x.

Considerations before upgrading

CAUTION:
Upgrading Mercury LP controllers from 1.31.0 to 2.x.x can take up to an hour to complete, and you cannot downgrade from that version. During the upgrade, access cannot be granted at the doors controlled by the Mercury LP controllers. Make sure to coordinate upgrades during an acceptable maintenance window based on the operational requirements of the facility where the hardware is deployed.
For Mercury LP4502 controllers, the following add-ons are currently not supported with firmware 2.x.x:
  • HID pivCLASS Authentication Module
  • TI EntryPoint Authentication Module
  • Over-Watch plugin for the BEST Wi-Q integration
CAUTION:
If you’re using any of these add-ons, do not upgrade to firmware 2.x.x.
