[KBA-78980] Updating Mercury LP intelligent controllers after upgrading to Security Center 5.8

This article explains how to convert Mercury LP controllers that were enrolled as EP controllers in Security Center, so that they are displayed as LP controllers after upgrading to Security Center 5.8.

Summary

The Mercury EP line of controllers is discontinued and replaced with the LP line of controllers. Starting in Security Center 5.8, you can enroll LP controllers as LP controllers in Config Tool.

In Security Center 5.7 and earlier, Mercury LP controllers were enrolled in Security Center as Mercury EP controllers. After you upgrade to Security Center 5.8 and Synergis Softwire 10.10 or later, you can switch those controllers to LP controllers in Config Tool.

To switch a Mercury LP controller that was enrolled as an EP controller to be displayed as an LP controller in Config Tool:

From the homepage in Config Tool, open the Access control task, and click the Roles and units view.
From the entity tree, select the Synergis™ unit with the LP controller that was enrolled as an EP controller, and then click the Peripherals tab.
Select the LP controller that was enrolled as an EP controller.
Press Ctrl+Shift and click Edit the item ().
In the window that opens, click Convert.
Click Apply.
For Synergis units running Synergis Softwire 11.5.0 or later, reset the Mercury controller:
1. Log on to the Synergis unit.
2. Click Configuration > Mercury controller settings > Buses.
3. Next to the LP controller that you just converted, click Reset.
4. In the Reset bus dialog box that opens, click Reset bus.

The Mercury LP controller is now listed as an LP controller in Security Center.
