[KBA-79003] Issues with Import tool in hosted systems

This article explains why you might not be able to view the credentials you import in a hosted deployment of Security Center SaaS Edition (Classic) with access control.

Applies to: Security Center SaaS Edition (Classic)

Symptoms

When you import credentials in a hosted deployment of Security Center SaaS Edition (Classic) with access control, sometimes the credentials do not display and it seems like they were not imported correctly. After, if you try to create the credentials manually using the same information, you receive an Insufficient privileges error message.

Cause

If you do not select a when you import credentials using the Import tool in Config Tool and you do not specify a partition in the source CSV file, the credentials are added to the root partition. Users logged on to a hosted system do not have access rights to the root partition, so they cannot view or modify the imported credentials.

Workaround

  1. In the source CSV file, add a value for the partition you want to add the credentials to.
  2. In the Bindings tab of the Import tool, map the partition value to the partition element.

Status

This issue will be resolved in Security Center 5.12.1.0.
