[KBA-79066] No live video when using Automatic stream in Security Center 5.8.1.7 or 5.9.4.1

This article explains why cameras that have multiple video streams configured do not display a live stream in the Monitoring task when the Automatic live stream option is selected in Security Center 5.8.1.7 or 5.9.4.1.

Symptoms

When you open a saved Monitoring task or when you add a camera to a tile in the canvas, it automatically shows playback video instead of live video and the video remains in playback mode.

The following error is eventually displayed in the tile:
No connection established for source. Playback from cache.

Cause

A coding issue.

Workaround

Use one of the following workarounds:

  • At the bottom of the Monitoring task, click Clear All () to clear all the tiles and then double-click the camera or drag the camera to a tile again.
  • Click the Live button on the camera widget and switch from playback video mode to live video mode.
  • Deactivate the Automatic stream by selecting a different video mode from the Live stream option in the Options dialog box in Security Desk.
  • Uninstall the Security Center 5.8.1.7 or 5.9.4.1 patch version from the client workstation.
  • Install Hotfix 2738630 for Security Center 5.8.1.7 or Hotfix 2738623 for Security Center 5.9.4.1. To acquire the hotfixes, contact the Genetecâ„¢ Technical Assistance Center (GTAC).

Status

The issue will be resolved in 5.8.1.8 and 5.9.4.2.
