[KBA-79177] Mercury long credentials sometimes stop working after a Synergis Softwire upgrade

After upgrading Synergis™ Softwire, there are rare occasions where readers connected to Mercury controllers stop reading credentials that are longer than 64 bits.

Applies to

Synergis™ Cloud Link units after a Synergis Softwire upgrade from any version earlier than 11.4.2 to any version up to 11.4.2.

Cause

During the Synergis Softwire upgrade, some settings fail to be copied to the new folder.

Workaround

Reconfigure the database layout and long credential format on the Mercury controllers, and then reset the Mercury buses. For more information, see Enabling long credential support on Mercury controllers.

Status

This issue is fixed in Synergis Softwire 11.4.3 and later.
