You can exclude KiwiVision™ Analyzer roles and video analytics scenarios from automatic load balancing to manually assign them to a KiwiVision™ Analyzer role and device.

What you should know

Usage statistics are not refreshed while modifying Manual load balancing options. Updated information is only displayed after reopening the Manual load balancing page, but the changes are not instant.

In addition to excluding KiwiVision™ Analyzer roles and video analytics scenarios from automatic load balancing, you can use Manual load balancing to disable analytics scenarios from a central location. Disabled scenarios are unassigned from all KiwiVision™ Analyzer roles, unless they are excluded from automatic load balancing first.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. Select the KiwiVision™ Manager role from the entity browser.
  3. Click the Analyzer management tab.
  4. At the top-right of the Analyzer management page, click Manual load balancing.
  5. To exclude KiwiVision™ Analyzer roles and scenarios from automatic load balancing, click for the desired scenarios and KiwiVision™ Analyzer roles.
  6. To assign the scenarios, drag and drop the scenarios from one KiwiVision™ Analyzer role or device to another.
You can also assign scenarios to a selected KiwiVision™ Analyzer role instead. This is useful on large systems with many KiwiVision™ Analyzer roles.
    1. Click for the desired KiwiVision™ Analyzer role, and then select Assign scenarios.
Tip: Use the search bar to quickly filter by the name of the KiwiVision™ Analyzer role or server.
A dialog box named after the KiwiVision™ Analyzer role opens. The left pane lists all video analytics scenarios in the system, along with their cameras, KiwiVision™ Analyzer roles, and servers. The right pane lists all the video analytics scenarios currently assigned to the role, and their cameras.
    2. In the dialog box, select one or more of the scenarios, and use the arrows to assign or unassign them to the KiwiVision™ Analyzer role.
    3. Click OK.
  7. If required, disable a scenario by right clicking it and selecting Disable.
Disabled scenarios are grayed out. These scenarios are moved under Unassigned scenarios, unless they are excluded from automatic load balancing first.

To enable a disabled scenario, right click it and select Enable.

  8. Click Apply.

Results

The video analytics scenarios you moved are excluded from automatic load balancing. If you configured scenario assignment per KiwiVision™ Analyzer role, the role and all its assigned scenarios are excluded from automatic load balancing.
