Your KiwiVision™ video analytics windows services or sub-processes fail or end abnormally. Contact Genetec™ Technical Support or update your configuration.

Cause

The memory allocation for processes in the service session is too small. Services and processes might experience performance issues and might stop processing or end abnormally.

Solution

Do one of the following:
  • Contact Genetec™ Technical Support to get your configuration optimized for more than 50 analytics on a single machine.
  • Update your configuration to optimize for more than 50 analytics on a single machine.

To optimize your configuration for more analytics:

  1. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\Subsystems\Windows.
  2. Browse the settings as shown in this example:
    %SystemRoot%\system32\csrss.exe ObjectDirectory=\Windows SharedSection=1024,20480,768 Windows=On SubSystemType=Windows
    ServerDll=basesrv,1 ServerDll=winsrv:UserServerDllInitialization,3 ServerDll=sxssrv,4 ProfileControl=Off MaxRequestThreads=16
  3. Update the 768 value in the example to 8192. Updating this value increases the Session Heap memory allocation for the Windows services from 768k to 8Mb.
