You can deploy the KiwiVision™ video analytics plugin in Security Center by following a sequence of steps.

Understand prerequisites and key issues before deploying
1 Learn about what you can do with KiwiVision™ video analytics.
2 Before updating or installing KiwiVision™ video analytics, read the release notes to learn about the new features, resolved issues, known issues, and limitations.
3 Learn about the different components and how they connect together.
4 Ensure that your servers meet the recommended system requirements for video analytics, and are running a compatible version of Security Center.
Prepare Security Center
5 Ensure that the cameras that you want to apply video analytics to meet the requirements, are optimally set up, are added to Security Center, and are functioning as required.
6 Verify that your Security Center license has a valid certificate for KiwiVision™ video analytics. Go to the Config Tool home page, click About > Certificates, and confirm that KiwiVision video analytics is in the list.
Deploy KiwiVision™ video analytics
7 If you are not already using the version of Security Center that KiwiVision™ video analytics is bundled with, install and upgrade as required.
8 Grant users the privileges that they need to use KiwiVision™ video analytics.
The following privileges are specific to the KiwiVision™ Security video analytics module:
  • Modify security video analytics
  • Security video analytics report
  • Remove privacy protection (if privacy protection is enabled on the cameras you want to use for video analytics)
The following privileges are specific to the KiwiVision™ People Counter module:
  • Modify people counting
  • Remove privacy protection (if privacy protection is enabled on the cameras you want to use for video analytics)
9 In Config Tool, create the KiwiVision™ Manager role.
10 In Config Tool, create the KiwiVision™ Analyzer role.
NOTE: For multi-server setups, create a KiwiVision™ Analyzer role on each server that will perform video analytics, and make sure the Analyzer roles can access the KiwiVision™ Manager database.
11 In Config Tool, schedule regular database backups and cleanups for the KiwiVision™ Manager role.
12 (Optional) Enable GPU support on the KiwiVision™ Analyzer roles.
NOTE: GPU support is only available for the Tailgating detection and People counting scenarios.
13 (Optional) On the Properties page of the KiwiVision™ Manager role, modify the usage data collection settings.
NOTE: These options were configured when you installed KiwiVision™ video analytics separately from Security Center, or when you installed Security Center that includes the bundled version of KiwiVision™ video analytics.
14 (Optional) Create event-to-actions to notify you when the KiwiVision™ Manager and KiwiVision™ Analyzer roles are in warning states by using the Entity warning event in the When field.
Create and configure analytics scenarios
15 Choose the scenario type best suited to your needs, and add it to your camera.
16 Configure the scenario as required. For intrusion detection analytics: For object detection analytics: For people counting analytics:
17 (Optional) To apply the same analytics configuration to multiple cameras, save the configuration as a KiwiVision™ settings file.
Configure Security Center for monitoring video analytics
18 Enable the events related to your analytics scenarios, so that you can receive the events in the Monitoring task in real time.
19 (Optional) Configure people counting dashboard widgets so that you can visualize people counting statistics in Security Desk.
20 Configure investigation tasks so that you can generate reports on events triggered from the KiwiVision™ video analytics modules.
