To monitor your cameras for tampering, you must configure integrity monitoring on each
camera.
What you should know
- Camera integrity monitoring can support PTZ cameras that are used as fixed cameras.
- If you change the position of a camera, you must reset the integrity monitoring feature
on the camera so that the Camera Integrity Monitor can recalculate what is considered to
be the 'normal' camera view.
Procedure
-
From the Config Tool homepage, open the
Area view task.
-
Select a camera to configure.
-
(Optional) Create a camera thumbnail.
The camera thumbnail is a reference image that the
maintenance technician can use to reset the camera to its original position when they
fix a camera tampering issue. It is not used by the system for integrity
monitoring.
-
Click the Identity tab.
-
In the thumbnail area, click Play ().
-
Click Update thumbnail ().
-
Click Apply.
-
Click the Video analytics tab and select Camera
integrity monitoring.
-
Set the Camera integrity monitoring switch to
ON.
-
From the Selected preset list, select the sensitivity
preset.
The sensitivity preset determines how much the Camera Integrity Monitor tolerates
changes in the image.
- Low sensitivity
- Use this setting if you’re getting too many false positives.
- Medium sensitivity
- Default setting.
- High sensitivity
- Use this setting if you aren’t getting the expected tampering events.
-
Click Apply.
