If you start configuring a predefined analytics scenario, and then decide it does not fit your needs, you can convert the scenario to its corresponding custom version to make all settings available.

What you should know

When you convert a scenario to its custom version, configured settings are preserved and additional settings are made available. This conversion cannot be reversed.
You can distinguish the scenario types by the icon displayed in the scenario tab:
  • Area protection ()
  • Perimeter protection ()
  • Direction control ()
  • Object detection ()
  • Stopped vehicle detection ()
  • Custom Intrusion Detector ()
  • Custom Object Detector ()
IMPORTANT: The event triggered from the converted scenario might change, depending on which scenario type you convert from.

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Video task.
  2. From the area view, select a camera to apply the analytics scenario to.
  3. Click the Video analytics tab, and then select the scenario you want to convert.
  4. Click the General tab.
  5. Click Convert to custom.
A warning dialog box opens, telling you which scenario type your current scenario will be converted to.
  6. Click Continue.
  7. Click Apply.

If you convert a Direction control scenario to a Custom Intrusion Detector scenario, the name of the scenario remains the same, but the icon beside the name on the tab changes from to .

The event that is triggered from the scenario changed from Object following route to Object detected in field.

After you finish

If the event triggered from the scenario changes, make sure to enable the event in Security Desk so that you can monitor it, and update any event-to-actions using the old event as a condition to use the new event.
