To monitor live events and generate reports for MCE Sentry Destination Dispatch entities on remote Security Center, you must configure a Security Center Federation™ host.

Before you begin

  • Understand Federation™.
  • Deploy the plugin and integrate the MCE Sentry Destination Dispatch system with Security Center on each remote site.
  • To view destination input devices and MCE floor markings from a federated system, you must first create an instance of the plugin on the Federation™ host.
  • Read the release notes to learn about known issues and limitations that affect the use of Federation™ for this plugin.

Procedure

  1. Open Config Tool on the server that host Federation™.
  2. Add the MCE Sentry Destination Dispatch license (part number GSC-1P-MCE).
  3. Install the MCE Sentry Destination Dispatch plugin.
  4. Creating the MCE Sentry Destination Dispatch plugin role.
Leave the role disconnected. Creating the plugin role adds the MCE Sentry Destination Dispatch entities to the host.
  5. Set up a Security Center Federation™.
Create a Federation™ role for each remote site that hosts the MCE Sentry Destination Dispatch plugin role.
  6. Deactivate and then re-activate the Federation™ role.
The MCE Sentry Destination Dispatch entities from remote systems are displayed in the entity browser of the Federation™ host. If the entities are missing, restart the main server for the Federation™ host.
  7. (Optional) Delete the MCE Sentry Destination Dispatch plugin role that you created in step 4.
  8. In the Monitoring task, add the entities to the event monitoring list.
