You can upgrade the Medeco XT plugin from version 3.0 directly to version 3.1.0.

Before you begin

  1. Read the release notes to learn about important information for this release.
  2. Confirm that your versions of Security Center, the Medeco XT Intelligent Key System, and the plugin are compatible.

What you should know

  • The plugin must be upgraded on all Security Center client and server computers.
  • The Medeco XT Key Programmer must be upgraded on all client computers.
  • An upgrade keeps your current entities and their configuration, and all event notifications.
  • The Directory database contains all your entities.
  • The plugin database contains all your event notifications.

Procedure

  1. Open Server Admin, and back up the Directory database.
  2. Back up the plugin role database.
  3. Stop the Genetec™ Server service, and then close Security Desk and Config Tool.
  4. Install the latest version of the plugin.
  5. Start the Genetec™ Server service.
  6. Open Config Tool to verify that the role is working properly.
    The plugin is ready for use.
