A mustering area is an area in Security Center that represents an emergency assembly point. You must create and configure this area before you can perform mustering operations.

Before you begin

Create a door with one reader to add to the mustering area. This reader is not the USB reader used to count people at the assembly point.

For more information about creating and configuring doors, and other general tasks, see the Security Center Administrator Guide.

What you should know

  • The mustering area must be created at the same level in the entity tree as the main building area where people evacuate from. This ensures that the Area presence report generated for the main building area only lists the people still in the building. In the following example, the main building area is named Main office:

  • The door added to the mustering area can be used for all mustering areas in the system. This door ensures that the People counting task is updated when cardholders present their cards to the USB reader.
  • The mustering area does not require an access rule.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Area view task.
  2. Create a secured area:
    1. Click Add an entity () > Area, and enter a name for the mustering area.
    2. On the Identity page, switch the Access control option to ON.
    3. Click Apply.
  3. On the Properties page of the area, add the door created for mustering.
  4. Click Apply.
