To configure a PIV reader, start with a standard OSDP configuration, then specify
additional settings for the PIV feature.
Procedure
-
Click the OSDP tab
-
Set Reader type to PIV/CIV/PIV-I through
transparent OSDP.
-
(Optional) Select the PKI at the door option.
PKI at the door contacts Carillon Federal Services over the
internet to verify card status.
-
(Optional) Select the Require PIN option.
If you enable Require PIN, set it to PIV
AUTH; the card must be entered into a contact reader, which will
prompt for the PIN.
-
Set Credential format to GUID.
The FASC-N credential format is only for PIV cards in US
federal facilities.
IMPORTANT: When configuring PIV readers, make sure that they are not set
to Card and PIN by the door hardware configuration. With PIV, Card and PIN is
handled by the reader's authentication mode.
After you finish
Associate the configured OSDP reader with the door.
