To use Carillon Federal Services as a card verifier, you must configure your OSDP readers and a Server-based Certificate Validation Protocol (SCVP) server.

Before you begin

  • Configure your OSDP readers:
    • Baud rate Match the reader settings
    • Security Center 5.6 compatibility ON
    • RS485 echo enabled ON
    • Address 0
    • Secure connection settings Unencrypted
      NOTE: Some readers can be set to Encrypted. For more information, see Enabling secure mode on OSDP readers.
  • Enable the FIPS 201 tab in Config Tool, and load the Carillon executable and DLLs onto the Synergis™ unit. Contact GTAC for help with enabling the FIPS 201 tab and loading the Carillon files.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Access control task.
  2. From the entity tree, select the Synergis™ unit, then the Hardware tab.
  3. Click the FIPS 201 tab, then fill in the SCVP Server and SCVP Client ID fields.
  4. Configure a PIV reader.
