Use the Multiple Access Denied bad access incident type to investigate when there are multiple Access denied events in succession.

Multiple Access Denied bad access incident type: functionality

This incident type is configured to be triggered automatically on any Access denied event that occurs 3 times in a 4 hour time interval.

After the operator completes the incident procedure, the system sends a notification email to Administrators.

Tip: You must specify at least one valid email address for notification emails.

The incident type is preconfigured with the following:

Multiple Access Denied bad access incident type: triggers

The incident is configured to be automatically triggered when any Access denied event occurs consecutively 3 times within a 4 hour time interval.

Based on your setup, you can add, remove or modify triggers as required. For more details, see Modifying incident triggers.

Multiple Access Denied bad access incident type: automation workflow

After the incident is triggered, the system waits for operator to execute the dynamic incident procedure steps. On completion, the system emails the details of the incident to the Administrators.

You can modify any of these details such as email recipients, details included in the notification email, and so on by selecting the incident type from the Incident configuration page in Config Tool and modifying the corresponding automation workflow activity in the incident's Automation tab.

Multiple Access Denied bad access incident type: user procedure

The incident is configured with a dynamic procedure, that accepts operator responds and directs system action accordingly.

The incident procedure steps include the following directives for the operators:
  1. Dispatching security to investigate.
  2. Logging cause of Access denied: system error, using lost access card or other.
  3. Action to be taken depending on operator response to cause of Access denied.
