Use the Deployment - Camera incident type to guide the operator through a video unit installation.

Deployment - Camera incident type: functionality

This incident type is configured for a manual trigger by the operator when required.
Tip: You can also configure an automatic trigger for the incident by using a macro that looks specifically for such events.

Detailed instructions are provided in the dynamic incident procedure for the operator on site to ensure successful installation of a video unit.

Tip: You must have at least one valid email address for notification emails.

For more details, see Triggering incidents manually.

Deployment - Camera incident type configuration

This incident type is preconfigured with the following:

Deployment - Camera incident type: triggers

The incident configuration does not include automatic triggers. It is expected to be triggered whenever work for a video unit installation is initiated.

Based on your setup, you can add, remove or modify triggers as required. For more details, see Modifying incident triggers.

Deployment - Camera incident type: automation workflow

The workflow is dependent on operator response to the dynamic incident procedure. After the operator confirms successful installation of the video unit, the system then sends a notification email to users configured as Administrators with the following details:
  • Incident name
  • Incident owner
  • Incident source
  • Dynamic procedure steps
You can modify any of these details such as email recipients, details included in the notification email, and so on by selecting the incident type from the Incident configuration page in Config Tool and modifying the corresponding automation workflow activity in the incident's Automation tab.

For more details, see Modifying incident automation workflow activities.

Deployment - Camera incident type: user procedure

The incident is configured with a dynamic procedure, that accepts operator response and directs system action accordingly.

The incident procedure steps include the following directives for the operators:
  1. Instructions to log details of the video unit, manufacturer, IP address, and so on.
  2. Instructions to validate the following:
    1. Switch and label of connection.
    2. Video quality and resolution.
    3. Camera angle.
    4. Live feed.
    5. Firmware version of video unit, manufacturer. Check so see if updates are needed.
  3. Directive to take a snapshot of video for archive.

Completion of the last dynamic procedure step prompts the system workflow to email Administrators with details of a successful installation.

For more details, see Modifying incident user procedures.

For more information on incident type configuration, see the Mission Control Administrator Guide.
