To prepare your Blighter devices for integration with Security Center, you must configure the Blighter system to communicate with the Genetecâ„¢ Restricted Security Area Surveillance (RSA Surveillance) plugin. For specific details about configuring your devices and software, refer to the Blighter documentation.

Before you begin

  • Make sure that your Blighter system is operating as per the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Make sure that your Blighter devices and software are compatible with the RSA Surveillance plugin. For the latest compatibility information, see Supported plugins in Security Center on the Genetec TechDoc Hub.

What you should know

This task describes in a general way how the Blighter system needs to be configured for it to communicate with the plugin. For specific details about the configuration of your devices and software, refer to the Blighter documentation.

BlighterView HMI can receive and generate data as XML over Ethernet. This enables the plugin to send commands, and to receive data about tracks and alarms. Blighter provides an Interprocess communication protocol (IPC), which outlines the data reports and command instructions. Contact Blighter for more information.

Procedure

  1. Make sure that the radar device is configured and that the BlighterView HMI application is running.
  2. For some organizations, network security policies require that the IP devices, routers, and switches in their network block unused ports. If your organization has such policies in place, then make sure to open the TCP port that the RSA Surveillance plugin and the Blighter system use to communicate.
  3. Take note of the following information. You need it to configure the Blighter system in Security Center:
    • IP address of the server that hosts BlighterView HMI.
    • TCP port used to communicate with the plugin.
