To prepare your DEA Security devices for integration with Security Center, you must configure the DEA Security system to communicate with the Genetecâ„¢ Restricted Security Area Surveillance (RSA Surveillance) plugin. For specific details about configuring your devices and software, refer to the DEA Security documentation.

Before you begin

  • Make sure that your DEA Security system is operating as per the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Make sure that your DEA Security devices and software are compatible with the RSA Surveillance plugin. For the latest compatibility information, see Supported plugins in Security Center on the Genetec TechDoc Hub.

What you should know

This task describes in a general way how the DEA Security system needs to be configured for it to communicate with the plugin. For specific details about the configuration of your devices and software, refer to the DEA Security documentation.

Procedure

  1. Deploy and configure the DEA Security system as described in the DEA Security documentation.
  2. Define the following to allow the DEA Security system to communicate with RSA:
    • The IP address of the server hosting the RSA Surveillance role.
    • The user name and password used to connect to the RSA Surveillance plugin.
You need this information later to add the tracking system to Security Center.
  3. Open the required ports depending on your configuration.
The default ports are 8889 TCP and 8890 UDP.
