To prepare your EPSI PSR devices for integration with Security Center, you must configure the EPSI PSR system to communicate with the Genetecâ„¢ Restricted Security Area Surveillance (RSA Surveillance) plugin. For specific details about configuring your devices and software, refer to the EPSI PSR documentation.

Before you begin

  • Make sure that your EPSI PSR system is operating as per the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Make sure that your EPSI PSR devices and software are compatible with the RSA Surveillance plugin. For the latest compatibility information, see Supported plugins in Security Center on the Genetec TechDoc Hub.

Procedure

  1. For some organizations, network security policies require that the IP devices, routers, and switches in their network block unused ports. If your organization has such policies in place, then make sure to open the TCP port that the RSA Surveillance plugin and the EPSI PSR system use to communicate.
  2. Create an administrator-level user account in the EPSI server for the plugin to use to connect.
  3. (Optional) Create zones in the EPSI server. The plugin will import these zones into Security Center.
  4. Take note of the following information. You need it to configure the EPSI PSR system in Security Center:
    • IP address of the server that hosts EPSI server
    • TCP port used to communicate with the plugin
    • User name and password for the administrator-level user account you created earlier
