To prepare your FLIR Ranger devices for integration with Security Center, you must configure the FLIR system to communicate with the Genetecâ„¢ Restricted Security Area Surveillance (RSA Surveillance) plugin. For specific details about configuring your devices and software, refer to the FLIR documentation.

Before you begin

  • Run the following command to check that the FLIR PSRServer is running and that it can communicate with the RSA Surveillance plugin: PSRServer -icd-0100 -endofxml TAG
  • Make sure that your FLIR system is operating as per the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Make sure that your FLIR devices and software are compatible with the RSA Surveillance plugin. For the latest compatibility information, see Supported plugins in Security Center on the Genetec TechDoc Hub.
NOTE: If you have a FLIR Nexus device, see Preparing FLIR Nexus systems for integration with Security Center.

What you should know

FLIR PSRServer can receive and generate data as XML over Ethernet, which allows the plugin to send commands and receive data about tracks and alarms. FLIR provides an Interface Control Document (ICD) that outlines the data reports and command instructions. Contact FLIR for more information.

Procedure

  1. Make sure that the radar device is configured in FLIR PSRServer and is operating as expected.
  2. For some organizations, network security policies require that the IP devices, routers, and switches in their network block unused ports. If your organization has such policies in place, then make sure to open the TCP port that the RSA Surveillance plugin and the FLIR system use to communicate.
  3. Create zones in FLIR PSRServer. The plugin will import these zones into Security Center.
  4. In FLIR PSRServer, enable ICD communication on the radar you want to use, and configure the IP address and port of the RSA Surveillance plugin. Use a unique port for each radar that you configure.
  5. Run the FLIR PSRServer using the following command line:
    PSRServer -icd-0100 -endofxml TAG
