To prepare your Navtech
devices for integration with Security Center, you must configure the Navtech system to communicate with the Genetecâ„¢ Restricted Security
Area Surveillance (RSA Surveillance) plugin. For specific details about configuring your
devices and software, refer to the Navtech
documentation.
Before you begin
- Make sure that your Navtech system is operating as per the
manufacturer's specifications.
-
Make sure that your Navtech devices and software are compatible with the RSA Surveillance plugin. For the latest compatibility
information, see Supported plugins in Security Center on the
Genetec TechDoc Hub.
What you should know
Navtech's Witness API can receive and generate data as XML over Ethernet. This
enables the plugin to receive data about tracks and alarms and also to send commands.
Navtech provides an Interface Control Document (ICD), which outlines the data reports
and command instructions. Please contact Navtech Radar for more information.
Procedure
-
For a Navtech Radar system, deploy and configure their Witness software as
documented on their website.
-
Make sure that the radar device is configured in the Navtech Witness
application and is operating as expected.
-
Make sure
that you have the Interface Control Document (ICD) and that it is compatible
with the plugin. For the latest compatibility information, see Supported plugins in Security Center on the Genetecâ„¢ TechDoc Hub.
-
For some organizations, network security policies require that the
IP devices, routers, and switches in their network block unused ports. If your
organization has such policies in place, then make sure to open the TCP port that the
RSA Surveillance plugin and the Navtech system use to communicate.
-
Take note of the following information. You need it to
configure the Navtech system in Security Center:
- IP address of the server that hosts Navtech Witness
- TCP port used to communicate with the plugin
