To prepare your OPTEX devices for integration with Security Center, you must configure the OPTEX system to communicate with the Genetec™ Restricted Security Area Surveillance (RSA Surveillance) plugin. For specific details about configuring your devices and software, refer to the OPTEX documentation.

Before you begin

NOTE: If you have an OPTEX Redscan Pro device, see Preparing OPTEX Redscan Pro lasers for integration with Security Center.

Procedure

  1. Open the OPTEX Redscan Manager.
  2. Click Settings > Detection mode.
  3. Set the Detection area to either Horizontal or Vertical.
    You can’t use the Automatic option.
  4. Click I/O Settings and do the following:
    1. Set Protocol to TCP.
    2. In the TCP settings section, set the following:
      IP Address (Destination)
      IP address of the server that hosts the RSA Surveillance plugin role.
      Port Number (Destination)
      Any port number that’s open and available. Remember it. You need this port number to configure the plugin role.
    3. Select the Heartbeat for device monitoring option.
    4. Click Save.
  5. For OPTEX Redscan Mini lasers, do the following:
    1. From a web browser, log on to the laser's configuration web page using the laser's IP address and user credentials.
    2. Click Network Options, and then set the Web Server Protocol to HTTP & HTTPS or HTTPS.
