To monitor events from alarm receivers in Security
Desk, you must add the receivers to the
Intrusion Manager role as intrusion detection units.
Before you begin
Create the Intrusion Manager role.
What you should know
When there are multiple alarm receivers, make sure that each
receiver has a unique port number, even if the receivers are on different IP
addresses.
Procedure
-
From the Config
Tool home page, open
the Intrusion detection task.
-
Click Intrusion detection unit ().
-
In the Manual add dialog box, enter the following
information:
- Intrusion Manager
- This setting is only visible when there are multiple
Intrusion Manager roles. Choose an Intrusion Manager role.
- Partition
- This setting is only visible when there are multiple partitions
created for the Intrusion Manager role you selected. Choose a partition.
- Manufacturer
- The name of the company that made the device you want to add to
Security Center.
- Product type
- This setting is only visible when the Receiver extension and the
Bosch, DMP, or DSC intrusion detection extensions are installed on the same server.
Choose the receiver you want to add.
- IP address
- The IP address of the device.
NOTE: If you are using a DSC Sur-Gard
receiver, you have the option of using the serial bus instead of TCP/IP.
- Port
- The TCP/IP port that the device uses to communicate with Security Center. The default port for Bosch is 5001,
for DMP is 2002, and for DSC is 5001.
NOTE: For DSC Sur-Gard receivers using serial
connections, the default port is COM 1
- Enroll disconnected unit
- Select the Enroll disconnected unit
check box to add a device that is not yet physically connected to the IP network or is
connected but offline.
Results
Two entities are created for the alarm receiver in
Security Center. One entity is added to Intrusion Manager
as an
Intrusion detection unit and one entity is added to the
Area view as a
Receiver unit.
NOTE: By default, intrusion detection units have a
Peripherals tab, which is not used by the receiver, so it is
empty.
