Step Task Where to find more information
Understand prerequisites and key issues before deploying
1 Before installing the extension, read the release notes to learn about new features, and to understand the requirements and known issues.
2 Learn which systems and devices can be imported into Security Center and how the different components connect together.
3 Learn which features are included with the license packages.
Prepare Security Center
4 Ensure that the expansion server where the plugin will be installed meets the recommended system requirements and is running a compatible version of Security Center.
5 If you have video surveillance cameras, make sure that the Omnicast™ features are enabled, and that all cameras are added to Security Center and are functioning as required.
6 In Security Center, create a map and add geo-references to it.
7 Add additional custom events and alarms that you need for responding to alerts in restricted security zones. List of custom events included in the RSA Surveillance plugin.
8 Grant user privileges. Granting user privileges for the RSA Surveillance plugin.
Install and configure the plugin
9 On the Security Center expansion server, download the plugin and install it. Downloading and installing the Restricted Security Area Surveillance plugin.
10 In Config Tool, create the RSA Surveillance plugin role. Creating the Restricted Security Area Surveillance plugin role.
11 From the plugin role, configure the connection settings for RabbitMQ. Connecting the RSA Surveillance plugin to Security Center clients.
12 If you have a system that contains zones already configured, like SpotterRF, import the RSA zones and link cameras to them. Importing RSA zones into Security Center.
13 Create RSA zones and link them to Security Center cameras. Creating RSA zones in Security Center.
14 Configure the behavior of the RSA zones. Configuring the behavior of RSA zones.
15 Perform optional configurations.
16 Set up Genetec Mission Control™ and Restricted Security Area Surveillance plugin so that operators can use the Incident Manager task to monitor and manage intrusion detected in RSA zones.
Deploy and configure your tracking device or system
17 Make sure that your tracking system devices are operating as expected. For instructions, refer to the documentation for your devices.
18 Make sure your tracking system or device is compatible with the RSA Surveillance plugin version 3.2. Product compatibility for the RSA Surveillance plugin 3.2.
19 Prepare your tracking devices for integration with Security Center.
20 Confirm that the tracking system and the plugin server are configured with the same date, time, and timezone. For instructions, refer to your Windows help system.
Add your tracking device or system to Security Center
21 Verify that you have enough licenses available for the type of tracking system that you plan to add.
22 From the plugin role, add your tracking systems and devices.
Confirm that the integration works as expected
23 Confirm that you can arm and disarm a zone. Arming and disarming RSA Surveillance zones in Security Center.
24 Confirm that you can monitor video when a target enters a zone. Tracking targets using the RSA Surveillance plugin.
25 For perimeter systems, like FFT, confirm that you can arm and disarm a perimeter. Arming and disarming RSA Surveillance perimeters in Security Center.
26 Confirm that you can trigger an alert for an active target. Triggering an alert for an RSA target.
27 Confirm that you see RSA Surveillance events, and alarms in the related Security Center reports. In Security Desk:
Set up your operator workstations
28 Install the plugin on each Security Center client workstation from which you want to monitor RSA zones.
NOTE: When the plugin is installed on a Security Center server but not your Security Center client workstation, the client receives events and alarms from tracking system, which you can view in the Monitoring task and the Event window. But to see zones on maps, you must install the plugin on your Security Center workstation.
Downloading and installing the Restricted Security Area Surveillance plugin.
29 In the Monitoring task of Security Desk, add the Restricted Security Area Surveillance role to the Event monitoring list and enable alarm monitoring.
30 Confirm that your workstation works as expected. If it does, you have successfully completed the integration. Do steps 23 to 27.
