To prepare your OPTEX lasers for integration with Security Center, you must configure specific settings.

Before you begin

Preparing your tracking system is part of the larger integration process. Follow the steps before and after step Prepare Security Center in the Integration overview for the RSA Surveillance plugin.

What you should know

If the user interface described in this topic differs from what you have, ensure that you are running a compatible version of the software.


  1. From a web browser, log onto the OPTEX laser's configuration web page using the laser's IP address and user credentials.
  2. Click Detection Configuration, and make sure that Detection Area is set to either Horizontal or Vertical.
    The detection area must not be set to automatic.
  3. Click Network Configuration, and then do the following:
    1. Set Transmission Mode to TCP.
    2. Set Destination IP Address to the IP address of the Security Center expansion server that runs the RSA Surveillance plugin.
    3. Choose a port number that is open and available.
    4. Note the port number for later configuration of the plugin.
  4. For OPTEX Redscan Mini lasers, click Network Options, and then set the Web Server Protocol to HTTP & HTTPS or HTTPS.
