To avoid a long synchronization the first time you run the SALTO Virtual Network plugin, you can edit a config file to limit the number of entries to be imported.

What you should know

  • Security Center imports audits from Salto and saves them in the local plugin database to speed up report generation. For large pre-existing installations, this could cause an extremely long import the first time you launch the plugin.
  • Setting a recent start date for event polling affects the first synchronization only. Subsequent audits are set by the Cleanup feature on the Resources page.

Procedure

  1. On the workstation where the plugin is installed, open Windows Explorer, navigate to Program Files (x86)\Security Center Plugins\Salto, and then open SaltoServerConfiguration.xml in a text editor.
  2. Edit the date and time in the line SaltoEventPollingStartFrom="1800-01-01T00:00:00.000Z.

Salto server config file with polling line highlighted.
NOTE: The more recent a start date you configure, the faster the first import will be.
  3. Save and close the config file.
NOTE: If you have failover enabled, update the config file on each server.
