You must set the TCP connection timeout according to how often the Guardian Sensors send out heartbeat messages (sensor health messages).

What you should know

By default, each Guardian Sensor sends out a heartbeat message every 15 seconds. If you change this in the Guardian Gateway settings, you must make sure the TCP connection timeout is configured accordingly in Security Center.

The TCP connection timeout setting is how long the SDS Guardian plugin waits to receive a heartbeat message from a sensor. The sensor is considered offline if the plugin does not receive a heartbeat message from the sensor before the timeout ends.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the Plugins task, expand the SDS Guardian plugin role from the entity browser.
  3. Select a gateway, and then click the Connection tab.
  4. In the Connection section, enter a value higher than the heartbeat message frequency configured in Guardian Gateway.
NOTE: The default timeout is 20 seconds.
  5. Click Apply.
