You must configure the plugin to connect to the Guardian Gateway server so that Security Center can receive gunshot detection and sensor health events from the SDS Guardian system.

What you should know

IMPORTANT: Do not connect more than one SDS Guardian plugin to the same Guardian Gateway. You can connect one plugin to multiple gateways, but one gateway should not be connected to multiple plugins because the sensors of that gateway will be duplicated and treated as different sets of entities in Security Center.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool home page, open the Plugins task.
  2. In the Plugins task, select the SDS Guardian plugin role from the entity browser, and then click the Gateways tab.
  3. Under the Gateways section, click Add gateway ().
  4. In the Guardian Gateway dialog box, configure the following settings.
    Name
Enter a name for the gateway.
    Server
Enter the IP address of the Guardian Gateway server.
NOTE: Click on the switch to choose between IPv4 and IPv6 address formats.
    Port
Enter the port number to connect to Guardian Gateway.

The default port number is 31000.

  5. Click OK.

Results

The gateway is listed as connected in the Gateways section, and a Guardian Gateway entity is created under the SDS Guardian plugin in the entity browser.
