Before you can request live and playback video and receive raw video streams using the
RTSP protocol, you must first create at least one Media Gateway role in your system with
Config Tool.
Before you begin
Ensure that the
Number of Media Gateway RTSP streams option in your Security Center license supports at least one
stream.
What you should know
A Media Gateway role is created by default if
your Security Center license supports mobile devices
or web connections (Number of mobile and web connections > 0).
Procedure

From the Config Tool homepage, open the Video task and click the
Roles and units view.

At the bottom of the page, click
beside Video unit, and then click Media
Gateway.

On the Specific info page, select the
Server to host the role on, and then click
Next.
This step is skipped if you have only one server in your system.

On the Basic information page, enter a name and description for
the role.

If there is a Partition field, select the partition this role is
a member of.
Partitions determine which Security Center
users have access to this entity. Only users who have been granted access to the partition
can see this role.

Click .
A new Media Gateway role (
) is created.
