To ensure that access is correctly granted and denied, cards encoded with an OSS Standard Offline configuration must periodically be updated with the latest access rights. You can configure a reader to update these cards every time they are presented to the reader.
Before you begin
- Configure STid or OSDP readers on the Synergis™ unit.
For more information, see Configuring and enrolling STid readers that use the SSCP protocol or Configuring and adding OSDP readers in the Synergis Appliance Portal.
- Create an OSS Standard Offline configuration in the MIFARE DESFire configuration task.
What you should know
- The Synergis unit must be running Synergis™ Softwire 11.5.0 or later or Synergis™ Cloud Link 3.1.0 or later.
- The reader must be either a STid reader using the SSCP protocol or an OSDP reader. The reader must be directly connected to the Synergis unit. For example, OSDP readers connected to Mercury controllers cannot be used to update OSS Standard Offline cards.
- The reader doesn’t need to be connected to a door. It can be a standalone reader used as a card updating station.
