Create an OSS Standard Offline configuration in Security Center to define the access rights of card credentials that are used with offline locks.

Before you begin

What you should know

Each configuration corresponds to a site.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the MIFARE DESFire configuration task.
  2. On the Configuration page, at the bottom of the MIFARE DESFire configuration section, click Create OSS Standard Offline configuration.
The Create OSS Standard Offline configuration dialog box opens.
  3. On the Initial configuration page, configure the general parameters for the configuration and for the read-write key.
NOTE: By default, OSS Standard Offline is selected as the Card type because it’s suitable for most use cases. Only select the OSS Standard Offline intervention media central for emergency use cases, where cardholders require unrestricted access.
  4. Click Next.
  5. On the Parameters page, configure the following:
    Max number of doors
The maximum number of doors that the card can access. Enter a value from 1 to 255.
Max number of day time schedules
The maximum number of schedules that can be applied to doors accessible by the card. Enter a value from 1 to 15.
Max number of day IDs per day time schedule
The maximum number of Day IDs that a schedule can contain. The Day ID defines the days or groups of days in a week. A schedule cannot have the same day in more than one Day ID. Enter a value from 1 to 4.
    Example:
    • Day ID 1: Monday
    • Day ID 2: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday
    • Day ID 3: Saturday, Sunday
Max number of time periods per day ID
The maximum number of time periods that each Day ID can contain. Time periods represent time slots in a day and they cannot overlap. Enter a value from 1 to 4.
Example: The following counts as two time periods:
    • 07:00 to 12:00
    • 14:00 to 18:00
    Max event entries
The maximum number of custom events that are stored on the card. Enter a value from 1 to 255.
NOTE: This option is not applicable to OSS Standard Offline intervention media central card types. No events are stored on the card for this card type.
    Max blacklist entries
The maximum number of blacklist entries that are stored on the card. Enter a value from 1 to 255.
  6. Click Next.
  7. On the Events page, select the custom events that you want to receive from the lock to store on the card and monitor in Security Center.
NOTE: This page is not applicable to OSS Standard Offline intervention media central card types.
  8. Click Next.
  9. On the Summary page, review the configuration, and then click Confirm.
The configuration is displayed on the Configuration page of the MIFARE DESFire configuration task. The configuration is created with default card master key and application master key settings.
  10. In the Card master key and Application master key sections, modify the settings to match the settings of your encoder and keys, as required.
  11. Click Save.

Results

The OSS Standard Offline configuration is listed in the MIFARE DESFire configuration list.

After you finish

  • If you already had standard MIFARE DESFire configurations in your system, re-order the configurations so that all the OSS Standard Offline configurations are listed before the standard configurations. Otherwise, encoding fails when you try to encode a card with both types of configurations at the same time.
  • Configure the doors, schedules, and access rules for the OSS Standard Offline configuration, associate them with cardholders, and then encode a card with the configuration.
