You can use the Wearable camera evidence task to check the conversion status of the evidence files offloaded from body-worn camera devices.

What you should know

The Wearable camera evidence task is a maintenance task that reports on the upload and conversion status of the evidence files offloaded from body-worn camera (BWC) devices.

Video evidence offloaded from BWC devices are viewable in Security Desk after being converted into a Security Center readable format.

Tip: The files that cannot be converted, or whose conversion failed, are kept in the BwcTransfer folder under the Security Center installation folder (C:\Program Files (x86)\Genetec Security Center 5.x by default) on the server hosting the Wearable Camera Manager role. You might be able to play these files with a third-party software, such as the VLC media player.

Procedure

  1. From the Config Tool homepage, open the Wearable camera evidence task.
  2. In the Source entity filter, select the officers whose evidence you wish to investigate.
  3. In the Time range filter, set your report time range and select the Date and time option.
    You can filter the evidence according to the time it was captured or the time it was uploaded to Security Center.
  4. (Optional) Expand the Conversion status filter and select the statuses you want to investigate.
    Error
    The evidence file cannot be converted or is corrupted. You can find a bookmark in the officer's timeline using the Bookmarks task. The bookmark indicates the start and end of recording, and the path to the original file on the server hosting the Wearable Camera Manager role.
    Pending
    The evidence file has been offloaded and is queued for conversion. This happens when too many video files are offloaded at the same time.
    In progress
    The conversion of the evidence file is in progress.
    Completed
    The conversion is completed. You can find and view the video evidence in Security Desk using the Archives task.
    N/A
    The conversion does not apply because the evidence is not a video or does not need conversion.
  5. Click Generate report.
    The pieces of evidence matching your search criteria are listed in the report pane. Each row corresponds to one piece of evidence captured by an officer on their BWC device.
