You can use the Web App Server role to configure the Genetec™ Web App, a web application that gives users remote access to Security Center. Each role instance has a unique web address (URL) from which users can log on to the Genetec™ Web App and access information from Security Center
You can create multiple instances of the Web App Server role. For example, one for local users
and another for remote users who access the Security Center network over the
internet.
NOTE: If you install Security Center 5.13 or later on
your main server, you must host your Web App Server roles on servers with Security
Center 5.13 or later installed. If the role is hosted on an expansion server running
a version of Security Center earlier than 5.13, the Genetec Web App will be
unavailable to users.
Configuration requirements
- When the Web App Server role is created, it is deployed to the main server. Additional Web App Server roles should be moved to an expansion server.
- If you create multiple instances of the Web App Server role on the same server, you must configure a unique URL of each instance. Otherwise, the Web App Server role turns yellow and produces an Entity warning event.
- Each Web App Server role must have a unique URL. The URL format is https://<host>:<port>/<webAddress>.
