To configure Security Center to manage the OSS Standard Offline locks of a site, you can follow a general sequence of steps.

NOTE: This procedure assumes that you have already created cardholders in Security Center. It also assumes that you’ve used the lock manufacturer's configuration tools to assign Door IDs and Group IDs to the offline locks.

Configuration in Config Tool
1 Create the OSS Standard Offline configuration in the MIFARE DESFire configuration task.
2 Create the offline doors for the site corresponding to the configuration.
  • On the Properties page of each door, assign a Door ID and Site ID, according to the lock configuration.
3 Create weekly schedules for when you want access to be granted.
4 Create a permanent access rule for each schedule that you created.
  • On the Custom fields page of each access rule, assign a Group ID, according to the lock configuration.
  • Associate offline doors to each access rule.
  • Associate cardholders to each access rule.
5 Encode the cards of the cardholders to grant them access, according to the access rules that they are associated with.
6 Configure readers connected to a Synergis™ unit to update OSS Standard Offline cards.
Optional configuration
7 Modify the default revalidation period or set the revalidation period at the cardholder level.
8 Allow cardholders to use their OSS Standard Offline cards like mechanical keys.
Operation
9 Renew the access rights and update the events on a card.
