The revalidation period defines how long a card remains valid. After expiration, the card cannot open offline locks or be blocklisted until it is updated at a reader. You can set the revalidation period at both the system and cardholder levels.
What you should know
The validity expiration date is calculated by adding the revalidation period to the date on which the card is updated.
Example: In this example, the revalidation period is set to 8 days
in Security Center. The cardholder badges to update their card on March 12. The date until
which the card is valid is updated to March 20. However, if the revalidation period is
defined as 12 days for this cardholder, then the card will expire on March
24.
