You can enable redundant archiving at the level of the Archiver role, the failover server, or individual cameras.
Before you begin
What you should know
- Redundant archiving ensures that multiple servers can archive video at the same time and that they each manage their own copy of the video archive.
- You can set up redundant archiving on all cameras managed by the Archiver role or protect just a few important cameras.
- There are several ways to enable redundant archiving:
- Archiver role level: All servers archive video at the same time.
- Per-server level: One of the failover servers archives video at the same time as the primary server and the other failover server stays on standby.
- Individual camera level: Custom settings for individual cameras override any per-server redundant archiving configuration. All servers archive video and audio at the same time.
