The Hardware inventory report displays a list of local and federated units in your system. It includes details such as unit type, manufacturer, model, IP address, subordinate devices, password strength, current firmware version, recommended firmware version, certificate status, and other unit-specific properties.

What you should know

Using the Hardware inventory report, you can upgrade unit firmware in batches.
NOTE: Although the Hardware inventory report displays information about federated units, certain functions are unavailable. These include:
  • Action commands at the bottom of the screen
  • All password-related properties
  • All firmware-related properties
  • All subordinate device-related properties
  • All certificate-related properties
To view federated units in the Hardware inventory report, you must enable the Forward Directory reports option on the Federation™ roles.

Procedure

  1. From the homepage, open the Hardware inventory task.
  2. Set up the query filter for your report. Choose one or more of the following filters:
    Units
Select individual units or roles to investigate. Selecting a role is equivalent to selecting all units managed by that role.
    Source group
Select the category of units: access control, ALPR, intrusion detection, or video.
    IP address
Enter the IP address of the unit.
NOTE: You can use asterisks (*) as wildcards to replace the following:
    • For IPv4: an entire octet (192.*.1.258), digits within an octet (192.16*.1.25*), or the end of an address (192.*).
    • For IPv6: an entire segment (2001:0db8::*), hexadecimal digits within a segment (2001:0db8::*234), or the end of an address (2001:*).
    Advanced search
This filter only applies to access control units. Choose whether to display controllers, expanders, locksets, readers, or a combination of these.
NOTE: You must select certain options to display values in specific columns. For example, to display values in the Type of reader and Reader encryption status columns, you must select the Show readers option.
    Custom fields
Restrict the search to a predefined custom field for the entity. This filter only appears if custom fields are defined for the entity, and if the custom field was made visible to you when it was created or last configured.
  3. Click Generate report.
The report pane shows the unit properties.
