You can manually trigger an automation from a manual action or on a map.

Before you begin

You must have the Run automation privilege to manually trigger automations.

What you should know

You can manually trigger any automation, even those configured without a manual trigger.

Procedure

To trigger an automation from Config Tool:

  1. From the Automation task in Config Tool, click the Automations tab.
  2. Select one or more automations from the entity tree, and do one of the following:
    • Click Run automations at the bottom of the page.
    • Right-click your selection and select Run automations.
NOTE: The menu command Run automations is not shown if no selected automation is active (displayed in black).

To trigger an automation from Security Desk:

  1. From the Security Desk homepage, access the notification tray and click Hot actions ().
  2. In the Hot actions dialog box, click Manual action.
  3. In the Configure an action window, click the Action list and select Run an automation.
  4. Select the automation that you want to run and click OK.
Tip: If you frequently trigger the automation manually, create a hot action instead.

To trigger an automation from a map:

  1. From the Maps task or the Monitoring task in Security Desk, open the map that contains the automation.
  2. Click the automation icon and then click Play.
NOTE: The Play button is not displayed if the automation is inactive (shown in red).
