Windows Firewall can block network traffic destined for Security Center. You need to manually set exceptions to prevent communication problems between different Security Center components if this wasn’t configured during installation.
During the installation process of Security Center, choose the option Allow Genetec™ Security Center 5.x to automatically create firewall rules. If you don’t select this option, you need to set exceptions in the firewall to allow the proper traffic flow to and from Security Center.
- Add exception rules for each application and open specific ports used by these applications.
- Let the Security Center Installer create the exception rules for you.
To get the list of ports used by Security Center, see Default ports used by Security Center.
