Security Center uses the first network interface card (NIC) in your network connections list. Make sure that your NICs are in the right order, and disable any unused connections.

Procedure

  1. From the Start menu, open the Run app and enter ncpa.cpl.
  2. In the Network Connections window, press Alt, then select Advanced > Advanced Settings.
  3. In the Adapters and Bindings tab, change your NIC order as needed:
    1. Select your preferred NIC and use the up and down arrows to move it to the top of the list.
    2. If you are using IPv4, make sure IPv4 is listed above IPv6.
  4. In the Provider Order tab, make sure the Microsoft Windows Network is at the top of the list, then click OK.
  5. In the Network Connections window, right-click any disconnected or unused network connections and select Disable.
